Consistency on Instagram

Consistency across your brand is hugely important, and this should be reflected on your social platforms too, not only what you post but how and when. Below we’ve given some quick tips and food for thought on how you can ensure consistency on Instagram.

  • Use a brand photo or logo – you want yourselves to be easy to find, so you want something instantly recognisable.

  • Pay attention to your colour palette – often going with your brand colours works well, or think about the kind of images you want to post. Are they very rich images or soft colours? Sometimes brands will use a direct contrast to their brand colours to ensure key messages and offers really stand out.

  • Stay consistent with fonts – quotes and text overlays have become increasingly popular, so it is worth considering if this is consistent across your other platforms such as your website. If you haven’t already, we would recommend creating brand guidelines. As a starting point, you do not need a huge document, just make sure you have your logo and any variations, fonts, colours and any restrictions i.e.  do not use stretch or warp logo noted in a document which all your team have access to.

  • Post often – this will maximise engagement and keep the conversation going with your followers. If anything, it is a constant little reminder to your followers that you are still around and busy.

  • Responding to comments – this is hugely important, your followers have taken the time to engage with you, so it is important to show them that you are listening.
