As part of our recently launched Pocket Rocket Training we have developed a Marketing & Social - Kickstart Training Package. Designed to be flexible, we can come to you, deliver online or from our offices.

The Government's Kickstart Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for a young person aged 16-24, on universal credit and facing long term unemployment to gain vital experience and skills to take forward. It’s not for the faint hearted though, it’s not an easy opportunity to get extra staff but a commitment to support their development, teach them new skills and support them into future employment. If you meet the criteria though and are prepared to put some effort in there is financial support available from the Department of Work & Pensions who agree to fund -

100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months associated employer National Insurance contributions and minimum automatic enrolment pension contributions Further funding is available for training and support so that young people on the scheme can get a job in the future.

Employers can spread the job start dates up until 31 December 2021. You’ll get funding until 30 June 2022 if a young person starts their job on 31 December 2021. Once approved an employer can continue to add additional job placements under the grant agreement without applying again.

The funding available for training and support is £1,500 funding per job. This should be spent on setup costs and supporting the young person to develop their employability skills.

For example: training and employability support (provided by you, a Kickstart gateway or another provider) IT equipment and software, uniform or Personal Protective Equipment.

You are required to provide comprehensive training and support in the following areas:

Attendance & Timekeeping
Communication & Teamwork
Settings Goals & Career Advice
Interview Skills & CV Tips Creation/Improvement
Plus any other related support to help the participants find sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart Scheme placement.
