Cookie Policy

so what is a cookie?

No, it's not a tasty chocolate chip cookie! All jokes aside, a cookie is a small file which stores text-based data about a user’s visit to a website; it is accessed by the website each time that a user re-visits it. These files are stored on your computer or mobile/tablet devices (session cookies) or on the hard drive of these devices (persistent cookies).

A cookie is created on these devices each time you visit a website that uses cookies. They are often necessary to ensure a good user experience by, for instance, providing relevant information about a user’s experience and interests. Cookies on any website tend to be required for basic use e.g. login data and analytics or on a more complex basis. For further details about cookies, how they are used and how they can be deleted or disabled, you can visit www.aboutcookies.org. A fuller explanation about the cookies we use has been supplied below.

what we use

Analytical cookies allow us to track and recognise visitors browsing the website, and to see what they are interested in. To do this we use Google Analytics to help us identify how people, like yourself, found our website, what pages they visited and what actions they took on certain pages e.g. submitting a contact form.

If you have not changed your browser settings, it is likely we will be able to analyse aggregate, statistical, non-personal data about your visit(s).

These cookies collect information through Google Analytics in an anonymous form and record data such as the pages that you have visited, ensures updates are registered and analyses visitor traffic during a session.

If you would like to remove or block these analytic cookies, you can amend your browser settings accordingly. Google provides a browser add-on which allows you to control the Google Analytics collection and use of data. Access the add-on here and further information here

Where can I find more information, and how do I turn cookies off or delete cookies?

You can find out how to disable cookies on www.aboutcookies.org.

Most cookies can be blocked by activating a setting in your browser which allows you to opt in/out of some or all cookies. It is worth noting, however, that if you choose to block all cookies, you may not be able to access parts of our website and may therefore have a disrupted experience when trying to access certain pages.
